Things to do in and around Anchorage
Anchorage, Alaska is an active city with a wide variety of recreation opportunities, a vibrant arts community and world-class sporting events.
For a lot of our guests, this presents a challenge. Anchorage is a large city with a lot of things to do. Public transportation is limited and not particularly convenient. Taxicabs are very expensive. Most day tours leave early in the morning and get back late in the evening. For most visitors, Anchorage is not their destination. It's often just the place they land and stay for 1-2 nights before taking that cruise or land tour. So what do you do in Anchorage for just one day? Plenty! Just plan ahead and get excited. Here are a few ideas.
North of Anchorage (Eagle River, Chugiak, Eklutna, Palmer, Wasilla, Chickaloon)
South of Anchorage (Indian, Girdwood, Portage, Hope, Whittier, Moose Pass, Seward)
